BAKTI Accelerates Digital Infrastructure Development Through Land Use Agreements

Strategic Collaboration with Local Governments

BAKTI, under the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), has successfully facilitated the simultaneous signing of Land Use Agreements (PPL) with 21 local governments from priority regions. This landmark event, held in Makassar, marks a significant milestone in Indonesia's digital infrastructure development. The participating regions include Halmahera Timur, Lamandau, Mamberamo Tengah, Berau, Sorong Selatan, Maybrat, Biak Numfor, Buru Selatan, Banggai Kepulauan, Manggarai Timur, Raja Ampat, Supiori, Bima, Ende, Mahakam Ulu, Keerom, Teluk Bintuni, Kapuas Hulu, Fakfak, Maluku Tengah, and Dompu.

Enhancing Digital Connectivity in Underserved Areas

The primary objective of this initiative is to expedite the deployment of BTS 4G infrastructure in regions categorized as Tertinggal, Terdepan, Terluar (3T) - areas that are underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost. By securing these agreements, BAKTI aims to ensure the successful implementation of its telecommunications infrastructure projects, thereby enhancing digital connectivity and promoting equitable access to digital services across Indonesia.

1. Administrative Simplification: The signing of PPL agreements is a crucial administrative step that enables BAKTI to proceed with the construction of BTS 4G towers in the designated areas.
2. Collaboration with Local Governments: The initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between central and local governments in achieving the goal of comprehensive digital coverage.
3. Targeted Infrastructure Development: BAKTI has set an ambitious target to complete the necessary agreements and permits for 7,300 locations, comprising 4,770 local government-owned lands and 2,530 forest areas.
4. Progress Update: As of now, 4,214 locations have successfully completed the land use agreements and permit processes.
