The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation has conducted a survey predicting that approximately 2.62 million people will utilize sea transportation during the upcoming Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period. This forecast is based on the Potensi Pergerakan Orang di Nataru survey, which monitors travel patterns during peak holiday seasons.

Enhanced Safety Protocols

Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi emphasized that safety remains the absolute priority during this busy travel period. To ensure safe passage for travelers, the Ministry has deployed 24/7 operational units to monitor weather conditions and potential hazards. These units are particularly vigilant about extreme weather phenomena such as high waves, strong winds, and heavy rainfall.
