PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has reported a significant surge in passenger volume for its Whoosh high-speed train service during the recent Isra Miraj long weekend. As of January 18, 2026, the company recorded approximately 70,000 tickets sold, with expectations to reach around 80,000 tickets by the end of the day. The strong demand underscores the growing popularity of the Jakarta-Bandung rail service among travelers.

Return Traffic Continues Through January 19

KCIC's General Manager Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, noted that while the peak return traffic is currently observed, it is anticipated to continue through the morning of January 19, 2026. The return journey, primarily from Bandung to Jakarta, is expected to remain busy as many passengers conclude their holiday trips and resume work. Chairunisa highlighted that ticket sales for the remaining departures continued to show strong demand, with around 10,000 tickets sold for later departures and numbers still climbing.
