The Aceh rail line has been severely damaged by recent floods and landslides, with repairs scheduled to begin in January 2026. According to the Director-General of Railways, Allan Tandiono, the initial phase will involve data collection and planning. The damage is not expected to significantly impact local communities, as the rail line is not heavily used.

Assessment and Planning Phase

"Aceh belum, kan butuh diverifikasi lagi inventarisasi ya. Segera, bulan depan kita mulai kajiannya ya untuk melihat yang rusak seberapa banyak," kata Allan Tandiono. The assessment phase will help determine the extent of the damage and the necessary repairs.

Impact on Local Communities

Menurutnya kerusakan rel di Aceh ini tidak banyak mempengaruhi aktivitas masyarakat sekitar. Sebab selama ini jalur kereta di wilayah itu memang tak ramai digunakan. "Sebelum bencana, rel aktif di Aceh berapa kilometer sih, dan sehari melayani berapa penumpang? Tapi akan tetap kita perbaiki, nanti kita hitung," terangnya.
