ADB Appoints Bobur Alimov as New Director for Indonesia

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has officially appointed Bobur Alimov as its new Director for Indonesia, effective November 2025. Alimov succeeds the previous leadership of ADB operations in Indonesia and will lead the ADB Indonesia Resident Mission. His appointment underscores ADB's commitment to supporting Indonesia's development goals through enhanced collaboration with the government, development partners, and the private sector.

Key Focus Areas

Under Alimov's leadership, the ADB Indonesia Resident Mission will focus on implementing the newly approved Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) 2025–2029. This strategic framework aims to support Indonesia in achieving faster, more inclusive, and sustainable economic growth. The mission will provide integrated solutions to advance Indonesia's development priorities and maximize ADB's impact across the country.

Alimov's Statement

"It is an honor for me to return to Indonesia and work alongside the dynamic ADB team here," Alimov said in a statement on Friday (28/11/2025). His previous experience and deep understanding of Indonesia's development landscape position him well to lead ADB's operations in the country.
