PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (BJTM), also known as Bank Jatim, has made significant capital injections into two regional banks: Bank Lampung and Bank Sulawesi Tenggara (Bank Sultra). The company announced that it has invested Rp100 billion in each bank, totaling Rp200 billion. This move is part of the formation of a Bank Business Group (KUB) as mandated by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) regulations.
The capital injections were made on November 10 and 11, 2025, for Bank Sultra and Bank Lampung respectively. This strategic move is in line with POJK No.12/POJK.03/2020 concerning Bank Consolidation. The investments will strengthen the capital base of both banks and lead to consolidated financial reporting for Bank Jatim. The transactions were approved by shareholders in previous General Meetings (RUPST 2023 for Bank Lampung and RUPSLB 2024 for Bank Sultra) and have received regulatory approval from OJK.
This recent injection follows previous investments by Bank Jatim in other regional banks. On September 30, 2025, Bank Jatim invested Rp100 billion in Bank NTT, and on August 15, 2024, it invested a similar amount in Bank NTB Syariah. Additionally, on November 5, 2025, Bank Jatim purchased Rp742.82 million worth of shares in Bank Banten through the secondary market, acquiring 27,511,900 shares at Rp27 per share. This purchase was also part of the KUB formation strategy.
The formation of the KUB is expected to enhance the stability and competitiveness of the participating banks. Bank Banten is scheduled to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPSLB) on November 28, 2025, where the agenda will include the approval of Bank Jatim as the Controlling Shareholder and the parent company of the KUB. The consolidation is anticipated to create a stronger banking group in Indonesia's regional banking landscape.
