In 2004, Standard Chartered Bank and PT Astra International Tbk acquired Permata Bank and initiated a comprehensive transformation process. By 2006, their combined ownership stake rose to 89.01%. In May 2020, Bangkok Bank acquired the bank, currently holding 89.12% shares. The bank launched its new logo in September 2024, changing from a diamond to a lotus symbol, reflecting its new ownership.
