Bank Indonesia Clarifies Source of Idle Regional Government Funds Data

Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo has provided clarification regarding the source of data on idle regional government funds. According to Warjiyo, the data was obtained from Regional Development Banks (BPD). This information was subsequently communicated to the government through the Ministry of Finance. The clarification was made during a working meeting with Commission XI of the DPR on November 12, 2025.

The issue of idle regional government funds has sparked controversy due to discrepancies between the data held by the central government and regional governments. Warjiyo's statement aims to address these discrepancies by identifying the source of the data.

Warjiyo explained that the BPD reports the regional government accounts to BI, and this information is then forwarded to the Ministry of Finance. He emphasized that the data received from BPD is consistent with the information available to the regional governments.
