Bank Indonesia Clarifies Source of Idle Regional Government Funds Data

Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo has clarified the source of data regarding idle regional government funds. During a working meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives on November 12, 2025, Warjiyo explained that the information comes directly from Regional Development Banks (BPD).

Data Reporting Mechanism

According to Warjiyo, the data received from BPD is then forwarded to the Ministry of Finance. He stated, "Regarding the data on regional government accounts in BPD, we receive it from BPD and that's what we report to the Ministry of Finance. The report includes the funds held by regional governments in BPD, which we then convey to Kemenkeu." This process highlights BI's role in maintaining transparency and cooperation between financial institutions and government bodies.

The clarification comes amid concerns about discrepancies in reported data on idle regional government funds. By confirming the source of this data, BI aims to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting.
