PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) continues to expand its financial inclusion efforts by introducing its agen46 network to remote areas, including Bima City. This strategic move aligns with the government's Asta Cita program, which emphasizes equitable economic development and poverty reduction through enhanced financial access from rural areas. The development of agen46 serves as a foundation for BNI to bring formal banking services closer to the community, including basic transactions, fund transfers, and cash withdrawals, making it easier for people to access financial services without visiting bank branches or ATMs.
The introduction of agen46 in Bima City has had a positive impact on local communities, particularly micro-business owners. Fitra Wati, a shop owner who became an agen46 agent, reported an increase in her business activity since joining the program. The transaction activity at her shop now occurs almost throughout the day, providing her with additional income. "For transactions as a BNI agen46, Alhamdulillah, the profit adds to my extra income. I received KUR from BNI agen46 and could increase my business capital to grow further," she said.
The presence of agen46 has been well-received by the local community. Irfan HM Nor, Head of Woha Sub-district, noted that the agen46 presence has made transactions easier for residents. "The existence of BNI agen46 is very helpful to our community in facilitating transactions according to the needs of people in Woha Sub-district," he stated. Similarly, Rifiadin Akbar, a bus driver in Bima City, appreciated the convenience of being able to make transfers without traveling long distances. "My sibling needed to transfer money. As a bus driver, the distance between home and the ATM is quite far, but Ibu Fitra Wati's shop is nearby, so the transaction was completed immediately," he explained.
Alan, an onion trader in Bima City, also praised the agen46 service for reducing the time and cost associated with transactions. "Previously, making transfers or cash withdrawals was challenging due to the distance. With BNI agen46, it has greatly facilitated the people of Bima City in conducting various transactions," he said. By expanding agen46 to areas like Bima City, BNI aims to achieve more equitable financial access and boost local economic activity. This initiative underscores the role of agen46 as BNI's frontline in delivering banking services closest to the community.
