BNI Supports Post-Disaster Housing Initiative in Aceh Tamiang

Collaboration with Danantara Indonesia

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) has actively participated in the handover of 600 Danantara Houses in Aceh Tamiang, marking a significant milestone in post-disaster recovery efforts. This initiative is part of a broader government program aiming to provide 15,000 housing units for disaster-affected communities across Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra.

BNI's Contribution

BNI contributed 120 housing units, representing 20% of the total 600 houses delivered in the first phase. This participation demonstrates the bank's commitment to supporting national development programs and rehabilitation efforts following natural disasters. Corporate Secretary BNI, Okki Rushartomo, emphasized that this contribution is part of BUMN synergy coordinated by Danantara Indonesia.

Features of Danantara Housing

The Danantara Houses are designed to provide comprehensive support to displaced families, featuring essential facilities such as playgrounds, WiFi connectivity, prayer rooms, public facilities, and proper sanitation systems. These amenities are crucial in restoring normalcy and supporting the well-being of affected communities. The housing complex is located along Jalan Banda Aceh-Medan, Kebun Tanjung Seumantoh, Karang Baru District, Aceh Tamiang.

Implementation and Future Plans

The development of these housing units was a collaborative effort led by state-owned enterprises, with PT Hutama Karya (Persero) serving as the project coordinator. BNI has committed to continuing its support throughout the rehabilitation process, ensuring that the recovery efforts are integrated, sustainable, and impactful. The bank's involvement in this initiative reflects its broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment to supporting community development and disaster relief programs.
