BNI Volunteers Contribute to Aceh Post-Disaster Recovery Efforts

BUMN Peduli Initiative Mobilizes Resources

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) has deployed volunteers to support disaster response and early recovery efforts in Aceh as part of the BUMN Peduli 'Satu Hati untuk Sumatera' initiative. This corporate social responsibility effort demonstrates BNI's commitment to supporting communities affected by natural disasters. The volunteers were dispatched alongside over 100 others from 11 state-owned enterprises, highlighting the coordinated approach to disaster relief within Indonesia's SOE community.

Key Areas of Focus

The BNI volunteers, along with other SOE volunteers, concentrated their efforts in Aceh Utara and Aceh Tenggara, areas severely impacted by the disaster. Their activities included distribution of essential supplies, environmental cleanup operations, and rehabilitation of public facilities. These efforts aimed to accelerate the recovery process and restore normalcy to affected communities. The involvement of BNI volunteers not only provided immediate relief but also demonstrated the bank's dedication to long-term community support.

Coordination and Implementation

The deployment was formally initiated at Kualanamu International Airport in Medan, where the volunteers were flagged off by Dony Oskaria, Head of BUMN Regulation and COO of Danantara Indonesia. Representatives from various BUMN, including BNI management, were present at the sendoff ceremony, underscoring the collaborative nature of the BUMN Peduli initiative. During their deployment, BNI volunteers worked alongside other SOE volunteers to maximize the impact of their efforts and ensure a unified response to the disaster.
