BP-AKR, the private fuel station operator, has announced that it will begin importing fuel in January 2026. According to Vanda Laura, President Director of BP-AKR, the company will directly import fuel while maintaining the highest quality standards. 'As a manifestation of our commitment, starting this January, BP-AKR will once again procure imported fuel, ensuring that all products meet BP International quality standards,' Vanda stated. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has granted permission to private fuel station operators to import fuel. While specific import quotas were not disclosed, Director General of Oil and Gas at ESDM, Laode Sulaeman, mentioned that the increase in import quota is similar to that of 2025, around 10%.
