Increased Harvested Area Drives Production Growth

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has projected that corn production in 2025 will reach 16.11 million tons, representing a significant increase compared to the previous year. According to BPS data, corn production in November 2025 was recorded at 1.03 million tons, showing an increase from the 0.98 million tons produced in November 2024 ¹

The increase in production is attributed to the growth in the harvested area. BPS reported that the harvested area for corn in November 2025 reached 0.16 million hectares, higher than the 0.14 million hectares recorded in the same period last year ²

Positive Outlook for Corn Production

The BPS also projects the potential harvested area for corn from December 2025 to February 2026 to be around 0.70 million hectares, slightly down by 0.15% compared to the same period in the previous year ²
