PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) has successfully issued Rp500 billion worth of Commercial Paper (SBK) on January 12, 2026. This issuance represents a significant milestone in supporting Bank Indonesia's initiatives to deepen the national financial market. BRI's Managing Director, Hery Gunardi, stated that the SBK issuance provides a quick and efficient short-term funding solution for the company while offering investors competitive returns.
The Commercial Paper was issued in four tenors: 1 month at 4.5% discount rate, 3 months at 4.60%, 6 months at 4.85%, and 12 months at 4.95%. The instrument received a highest short-term rating of IdA+ from Pefindo, equivalent to AAA for long-term debt instruments. This rating reflects BRI's strong capital profile, maintained asset quality, and ability to meet financial commitments.
This issuance makes BRI the first bank in Indonesia to issue Commercial Paper under Bank Indonesia's Regulation No. 13/2024 on Money Market Transactions. The successful issuance strengthens BRI's liquidity management while supporting the development of transparent and credible money market instruments in Indonesia. BRI plans to continue innovating financial products, expanding its investor base, and maintaining prudent financial management practices.
