As the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holiday approaches, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is warning customers about potential fraud risks. The bank notes that high mobility and increased digital transactions during holiday periods create favorable conditions for fraudulent activities. According to the Ministry of Transportation, approximately 119 million people are expected to travel, representing about 42.6% of Indonesia's population.
BRI has ensured that its entire infrastructure and transaction systems are in optimal condition to handle the increased demand. The bank operates over 19,600 ATMs and CRM machines, supported by 1.19 million BRILink agents across Indonesia. Additionally, BRI's network includes over 284,000 EDC merchants and millions of QRIS acceptance points, along with electronic money cards called BRIZZI.
Saladin D. Effendi, BRI's Director of Information Technology, emphasized that besides ensuring service reliability, the bank places transaction security as a top priority during this peak period. BRI continues to maintain its comprehensive security measures to protect customers from potential fraud schemes that typically increase during long holiday periods.
