As of November 29, 2025, the bank had processed payments for 1,616 pilgrims out of 1,916 total payments made across all banks.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah revealed that BSI's dominant position in the hajj payment market is evident with 164,319 pilgrims (81.5% of total Indonesian hajj quota) having their hajj savings accounts with the bank. Other banks trailed significantly behind: Bank Muamalat (109 pilgrims), Bank Jatim (79 pilgrims), BTN (63 pilgrims), and Bank Mega Syariah (28 pilgrims).
BSI's management has taken proactive measures to ensure seamless payment processing. The bank is strengthening its digital transaction security to protect customer data and funds. Concurrently, BSI is conducting comprehensive customer education through various channels including official social media, call center (14040), and branch networks to guide pilgrims through the payment process and required documentation.
The bank's strong performance in hajj services aligns with its strategic focus on religious and social responsibility initiatives. With 83% of Indonesian hajj pilgrims being BSI customers, the bank is well-positioned to maintain its leadership in this segment. The successful execution of hajj payment services is expected to further enhance BSI's market position in the Islamic banking sector.
