BULOG Ensures Food Security in Aceh Ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr

Perum BULOG has confirmed that rice stock in Aceh is secure to meet community needs during the upcoming Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. As of January 18, 2026, BULOG Aceh holds 62,820 tons of government rice reserves (CBP), strategically distributed across various warehouses and branch offices throughout Aceh. This stock represents a strong foundation for maintaining food stability in the region.

Comprehensive Food Security Measures

In addition to rice stock, BULOG Aceh also manages 191,428 liters of cooking oil, ensuring the availability of essential commodities. The comprehensive approach to food security includes both staple food items, demonstrating BULOG's commitment to maintaining market stability. The effective management of these supplies is crucial for supporting community needs during the period of high consumption typically seen during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

Effective Distribution of Food Aid

The distribution of food aid and government rice reserves in Aceh has shown positive results. By mid-January 2026, the realization of disaster CBP distribution reached 14,435 tons, while rice food aid distribution amounted to 9,980 tons. In several districts/cities, the distribution realization has reached 100%, indicating effective implementation across various regions.

Strategic Preparedness for High Consumption Period

BULOG's Director, Ahmad Rizal, emphasized that the ample stock availability provides a strong foundation for executing various government assignments. These include supply and price stabilization, food aid distribution, and emergency disaster response, all while maintaining supply readiness for the high consumption period associated with Aceh's Megang tradition and the upcoming Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
