Perum Bulog is set to begin construction of 100 new warehouses in 2026, following a directive from President Prabowo Subianto to enhance storage capacity for domestic rice production. The project is currently awaiting the issuance of a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) after the signing of a Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB).

Project Timeline and Expectations

According to Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, Director of Perum Bulog, the Presidential Regulation is expected to be finalized by the end of 2025, allowing construction to commence in early 2026. The warehouses are slated for completion by March 2026, strategically timed to coincide with the peak harvest season. This initiative aims to improve the country's rice storage infrastructure and support local farmers by accommodating the increased production during the harvest period.
