On December 5, 2025, the Integrated Task Force at Weda Bay Airport successfully intercepted a Chinese national identified as MY, who attempted to smuggle mineral materials out of the industrial zone. The suspect was caught carrying 5 packs of mixed nickel dust and 4 packs of pure nickel powder on a Super Air Jet flight from Weda Bay to Manado ¹
