The Indonesian Ministry of Trade has announced an increase in the Copper Concentrate Export Price (HPE) to US$ 5,613.83 per Wet Metric Ton (WMT) for the period of December 15-31, 2025. This represents a 2.77% rise from the previous period's price of US$ 5,462.63 per WMT.
The adjustment is formalized through the Minister of Trade's Decision No. 2300/2025, issued on December 12, 2025. This regulatory update is part of the government's ongoing efforts to monitor and respond to global commodity price movements.
According to Acting Director General of Foreign Trade, Tommy Andana, the price increase is primarily driven by surging global demand for copper. This rise in demand has positively impacted the export benchmark price, benefiting Indonesian copper producers and exporters.
The revised HPE is expected to have a positive impact on Indonesian copper concentrate exporters, as it reflects the current global market conditions. This adjustment ensures that export prices remain competitive and aligned with international market trends.
