Key insights and market outlook
The Indonesian Tax Authority (DJP) is offering additional services to boost Coretax account activation, which remains low among taxpayers. As of December 2025, many taxpayers haven't activated their accounts, crucial for filing 2025 tax returns. DJP is intensifying outreach and education efforts to encourage activation before proceeding to tax form filling in January.
The Indonesian Tax Authority (DJP) has introduced additional services to address the low activation rates of Coretax accounts among taxpayers. As the tax filing season for 2025 begins, the DJP is focusing on educating and encouraging taxpayers to activate their accounts. According to Trilawanti Said, Head of P2Humas at Kanwil DJP Jakarta Khusus, the current activation rate is considered low due to limited understanding among taxpayers about the Coretax system.
To address this challenge, the DJP is stepping up its outreach and education initiatives. Trilawanti explained that the tax authority is working to 'rangkul' or embrace non-government employees to activate their accounts. The process is designed to be quick, taking less than 10 minutes for activation. The DJP plans to continue its education efforts in January, focusing on guiding taxpayers through the tax form filling process once their accounts are activated.
The activation of Coretax accounts is a critical step in the tax filing process for 2025. Without activated accounts, taxpayers will face difficulties in submitting their annual tax returns. The DJP's efforts to enhance awareness and provide support aim to ensure a smooth transition to the new Coretax system for all taxpayers.
