The flooding impacted multiple points along the toll road, including KM 73+200 to KM 73+000 (Path B), KM 02+900 Exit Pangkalan Brandan, and several other locations. Hutama Karya's Executive Vice President, Mardiansyah, stated that the company quickly responded to the situation by deploying warning signs and personnel to ensure safety.
Hutama Karya worked closely with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to address the crisis. The collaboration included evacuating residents from affected areas, such as those in Desa Harapan Makmur, Dusun Sei Pakis, starting at 11:15 AM local time. The company provided temporary shelters at the Pangkalan Brandan Toll Gate office and supported the evacuation process with operational vehicles.
Despite the flooding, Hutama Karya ensured that the toll road remained operational and safe for users. The company conducted real-time monitoring of the situation and took necessary measures to maintain traffic flow. By the time the situation was brought under control, all affected areas had been secured, and normal operations resumed.
In addition to addressing the immediate crisis, Hutama Karya also took proactive measures to prepare for potential future incidents. The company established emergency response posts at strategic locations, such as the Padang Toll Gate, in collaboration with the BUMN Task Force. This initiative aimed to provide immediate support and coordination for affected communities and authorities.
