The Indonesia Anti Scam Center (IASC), in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Task Force for Eradicating Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI), has received a total of 411,055 fraud reports between its launch in November 2024 and December 23, 2025. This significant volume of complaints underscores the growing prevalence of fraudulent activities in Indonesia's financial landscape.
The reports were received through two primary channels: 218,665 complaints were submitted by victims through financial institutions (including banks and payment system providers) that were subsequently channeled into the IASC system, while 192,390 reports were directly filed by victims through the IASC platform. This dual-channel reporting mechanism demonstrates both the importance of institutional collaboration and the growing awareness among consumers about reporting fraud.
Friderica Widyasari Dewi, Head of Consumer Protection at OJK, highlighted that this comprehensive reporting system is crucial for understanding the scope of fraudulent activities and developing effective countermeasures. The OJK continues to work closely with financial institutions to enhance consumer education and protection mechanisms.
The substantial number of fraud reports received by IASC highlights the need for continued vigilance and improvement in fraud prevention measures across Indonesia's financial sector. Financial institutions are expected to strengthen their internal controls while regulatory bodies like OJK are working on more robust consumer protection frameworks.
