The initiative is part of Kemenperin's broader strategy to develop human resources that are not only competent but also adaptable to technological advancements and globally competitive.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to produce industrial workers who can meet the demands of the modern industrial landscape. By strengthening vocational education, Kemenperin aims to address the skills gap in the industry. The ministry is committed to expanding and deepening the quality of vocational education across its educational institutions, which include 11 polytechnics, two community academies, and nine vocational high schools managed by the Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Industri (BPSDMI).
This initiative is in line with Presidential Regulation No. 68/2022 on the revitalization of vocational education and training. The regulation emphasizes the need to produce graduates who are competent, easily absorbed into the workforce, or capable of creating their own businesses. By aligning its programs with this regulation, Kemenperin is ensuring that its efforts contribute to the national agenda of improving human resource development in the industrial sector.
