This export milestone was announced by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) on December 3, 2025. The shrimp exports were certified free of Cesium-137, meeting the stringent quality standards required by the US market.
On December 3, 2025, Indonesia continued its export drive with an additional 10 containers worth Rp 25 billion being shipped to various ports in the United States, including Los Angeles, Houston, Savannah, and Miami. The shipment was carried out simultaneously from Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta and Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya.
Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan (MKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono emphasized the government's commitment to supporting the fishing industry and ensuring that all products from fish farmers are purchased by processing units. Trenggono stated that Indonesia would continue to maintain the quality and safety of its seafood exports, which is expected to boost the sector's growth and reputation in international markets.
The Ministry plans to continue its export drive, with expectations to reach 605 containers by the end of December 2025. This significant increase in export activities demonstrates Indonesia's growing presence in the global seafood market and its ability to meet international quality standards.
