Government Push for Uranium Exploration

Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Indonesian Presidential Special Envoy for Climate Change and Energy, has called on businesses to explore uranium resources as the country moves towards incorporating nuclear energy into its power generation mix. Speaking at the KADIN Rapimnas 2025 event in Jakarta, Hashim emphasized the government's commitment to maintaining energy security while transitioning to cleaner energy sources.

Instead, Indonesia plans to phase down fossil fuel usage while maintaining a commitment to develop renewable energy sources. Hashim stated that 76% of new power capacity to be built in Indonesia over the next 15 years will come from new and renewable energy sources.
