This decision was made to preserve consumer purchasing power and ensure economic stability at the beginning of the year. According to Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of ESDM, Tri Winarno, despite the formula indicating potential tariff adjustments based on macroeconomic parameters, the government chose to keep tariffs unchanged.
The unchanged tariffs apply to 13 non-subsidized customer categories of PT PLN (Persero), with rates ranging from Rp1,352 to Rp1,699.53 per kWh. The specific tariffs are as follows:
The decision to maintain electricity tariffs was made despite the formula indicating potential adjustments based on macroeconomic parameters such as exchange rates, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), and inflation, as well as the Reference Coal Price (HBA). The government prioritized maintaining consumer purchasing power and economic stability, particularly at the beginning of the year.
The government also maintained subsidies for 24 categories of subsidized customers, including social groups, low-income households, small industries, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This decision ensures that these groups continue to receive affordable electricity, supporting their economic activities and living standards.
