The Indonesian Ministry of Trade is taking significant steps to enhance the credibility of its Sistem Pemantauan Pasar dan Kebutuhan Pokok (SP2KP), the primary system used by the government to monitor staple goods prices. Trade Minister Budi Santoso highlighted the critical importance of accurate data in formulating effective price stabilization policies.

The SP2KP has been instrumental in 142 inflation control meetings, serving as the government's main navigation tool in handling price fluctuations and distribution issues. Minister Budi emphasized that without reliable SP2KP data and standardized reporting, price policies risk being misdirected.
