The investment performance has been particularly strong in Special Economic Zones, which have attracted cumulative investments of Rp 294.4 trillion (USD 17 billion) and generated 187,000 jobs, particularly in the tourism sector.
For 2026, the government has set ambitious investment targets, aiming for Rp 2.175,26 trillion in investments, representing a 14.2% increase from the 2025 target. This projection is supported by Bank Indonesia's forecast of 5.33% economic growth for 2026. The investment strategy will focus on downstream industries to potentially achieve 8% economic growth. The state budget for 2026 will continue to support priority programs in food security, energy, nutrition, and education, with allocations reaching approximately Rp 3.250 trillion, including Rp 450 trillion dedicated to strengthening core sectors.
The MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) industry is playing a crucial role in Indonesia's economic recovery and growth. By September 2025, the government had supported 134 events, attracting 10.8 million visitors and involving around 95,000 event workers and 44,800 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). These events generated an estimated Rp 11.82 trillion in economic activity, demonstrating the sector's significant contribution to national economic recovery and growth.
