Comprehensive Database Replaces Previous System

The Indonesian government has announced that it will be using the Data Tunggal Sosial dan Ekonomi Nasional (DTSEN) system to manage and distribute social assistance programs in 2026. This new system represents a significant upgrade from the previous Data Terpadu Kesejahteraan Sosial (DTKS) and Registrasi Sosial Ekonomi (Regsosek) that were used prior to this implementation. The change follows Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2025, signed by President Prabowo Subianto on February 5, 2025, which mandated DTSEN as the national data reference.

Key Features of DTSEN System

The DTSEN system is designed to be a comprehensive and integrated database that captures various aspects of citizens' socio-economic conditions. It includes information such as:

• Employment status
• Education level
• Housing conditions
• Access to basic services
• Various welfare indicators

This information allows for more precise targeting of social assistance programs by categorizing households into 10 economic deciles, ranging from the poorest to the most prosperous. The system is maintained by the Ministry of Social Affairs and requires verification through local government channels.

Checking Eligibility for Social Assistance

Citizens can check their eligibility for social assistance programs by verifying their Nomor Induk Kependudukan (NIK) through the DTSEN system. It's important to note that registration in DTSEN is not done directly by individuals through a website. Instead, the data collection and access process must be conducted through village or sub-district offices and authorized government agencies, as it requires on-site verification.
