Toll Operators Implement Various Measures for Nataru Traffic Management

Free Access and Discounts Introduced on Major Routes

In preparation for the 2025/2026 New Year holiday period (Nataru), Indonesian toll road operators have implemented various measures to manage traffic congestion. PT Jasa Marga (JSMR) has decided to open the Gending-Paiton toll road segment (24.08 km) for free from December 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026 ¹

. This functional operation aims to reduce congestion on the North Java coastal road.

Discounts on Strategic Toll Roads

In addition to the free access, Astra Infra is offering a 20% discount on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road during specific periods ²

The discount will be applicable during the peak travel periods: from December 22, 2025, 00:00 to December 23, 2025, 24:00 for the outbound journey, and on December 31, 2025, from 00:00 to 24:00 for the return journey. This initiative aims to distribute traffic more evenly and support economic activities during the holiday season.

Restriction on Goods Vehicles

To further manage traffic, Jasa Marga will restrict goods vehicles on certain toll roads during peak periods ³

. The company will utilize its Jasamarga Integrated Digital Map (JID) system for real-time monitoring and effective traffic management. This measure is expected to enhance safety and reduce congestion on major toll roads.

Shift in Peak Traffic Days

The implementation of the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy for civil servants is projected to shift the peak traffic days from December 20-21 to December 23-24, 2025 ⁴

. Jasa Marga has noted an 8.9% increase in traffic leaving the Jakarta metropolitan area between December 18 and 22, 2025. In response, the company is offering discounts on eight strategic toll roads across Java, Sumatra, and other regions ⁵
