National Donation Drive Exceeds Expectations

In a remarkable display of solidarity, Indonesia's Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, led a national donation drive that collected Rp75.85 billion in just one hour. The event, held at the Ministry of Agriculture's auditorium in Jakarta, was characterized by its transparency and inclusivity, with contributions ranging from Rp20,000 to Rp250,000.

Mentan Amran emphasized that the donation drive was not merely a ceremonial act but a genuine call to moral obligation for the nation. He highlighted that every contribution, regardless of size, was valuable and welcomed. The minister personally supervised the donation process, ensuring its integrity and transparency.

Distribution and Implementation

The collected funds will be distributed through the Ministry's Emergency Response Team in collaboration with local governments, the National Food Agency (Bapanas), and various humanitarian organizations. Amran assured that the donations would reach the affected communities promptly and effectively.

Previous Success and Public Trust

This is not the first time Mentan Amran has successfully led a donation drive. During the Palu earthquake, he managed to collect nearly Rp50 billion in just half an hour. According to Amran, the high level of public participation reflects the trust in the Ministry's integrity and transparency, built through various initiatives including the eradication of extortion practices within the ministry's services.
