Indonesia's Agriculture Minister, Andi Amran Sulaiman, has highlighted the enormous economic potential of coconut downstreaming, estimating it could reach Rp4,800 trillion. This significant figure was revealed during the launch of the 'Gerakan Menanam Lima Juta Pohon Kelapa' (Gemerlap) initiative in Selayar Islands Regency on November 15, 2025.

The minister detailed that premium packaging of coconut water alone could generate Rp2,400 trillion in economic value. When combined with other coconut derivative products, the total value nearly reaches Rp5,000 trillion.
