According to the National Food Balance data, the projected egg stock at the end of 2025 stands at 74,500 tons, representing a substantial 154.2% increase compared to the 29,300 tons recorded at the end of 2024.
Deputy for Food Availability and Stabilization at Bapanas, I Gusti Ketut Astawa, emphasized that Indonesia's national egg supply is not only adequate but actually surplus. During a statement in Jakarta, Astawa highlighted that the country's egg production is more than capable of meeting domestic consumption needs. "We have abundant egg stock nationally. In fact, our supply is surplus. We are confident that we will remain stable through Ramadan," Astawa explained.
While discussing price dynamics, Bapanas officials attributed any fluctuations in egg prices to seasonal factors rather than the government's recently introduced Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) program. The agency maintains that the impact of MBG on egg consumption during the current year remains insignificant. The focus on maintaining food stability continues as the country approaches the Ramadan period.
