Indonesia's Land Offices in Aceh Damaged by Floods, Landslides

Four Land Offices Affected

The recent floods and landslides in Aceh have significantly impacted the operations of the National Land Agency (BPN). Minister Nusron Wahid reported that four land offices were damaged, specifically those in Aceh Tamiang, Bener Meriah, Aceh Tengah, and Gayo Lues. The disaster has disrupted land services in these areas, necessitating immediate action.

Temporary Relocation Plans

In response to the crisis, the minister has allocated Rp3.1 billion for renting alternative office spaces. This measure will ensure continuity of land services while the damaged offices are being assessed and repaired. The Ministry of Public Works is currently evaluating the extent of the damage to the buildings and infrastructure.

Impact on Land Services

The floods have particularly affected the Aceh Tamiang land office, where services had to be relocated to another city. This disruption highlights the challenges faced by land administration services during natural disasters. The BPN is working to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
