The Indonesian Ministry of Public Works, through the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure, has embarked on an ambitious project to revitalize and renovate 1,411 madrasahs across Indonesia. This initiative is a direct response to Presidential Instruction No. 7/2025, which mandated the revitalization of 2,120 madrasahs nationwide. Following thorough technical surveys and on-site verifications, 1,411 madrasahs were identified as meeting the criteria for physical rehabilitation, ranging from minor repairs to major reconstructions.
Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, emphasized that the quality of school buildings plays a crucial role in creating optimal learning conditions. The revitalization program is being executed through the Quick Best Results Program (PHTC) for Madrasahs, aiming to accelerate improvements in religious education infrastructure. The minister highlighted that a safe and comfortable learning environment significantly influences students' concentration, health, and learning enthusiasm.
The ministry's efforts focus on transforming these educational facilities into high-quality, conducive learning spaces. By improving the physical infrastructure of these madrasahs, the government aims to enhance the overall quality of religious education in Indonesia. This project not only addresses immediate infrastructure needs but also contributes to the long-term development of the education sector.
