The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has officially clarified that the free nutritious meal program (MBG) extends beyond students to include various school personnel. According to Deputy Head of BGN, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, the program's coverage includes teachers, administrative staff, and janitorial personnel working in educational institutions.
The inclusion of educational staff in the MBG program is backed by Presidential Regulation No. 115/2025. This regulation explicitly mentions that both teaching and non-teaching staff are eligible for the nutritious meal initiative. The regulation was issued in December 2025, providing the legal basis for the expanded coverage.
During an inspection visit to SMK 1 Jakarta Pusat on January 8, 2026, Nanik emphasized that the program's objective is to enhance nutritional standards across the education sector. By including all school personnel, the initiative aims to create a more comprehensive approach to nutrition improvement in educational settings. The expanded coverage reflects the government's commitment to supporting not just students, but the entire educational community through improved nutritional support.
