Harita Nickel has implemented a sophisticated environmental management system, including 52 sediment ponds covering 80 hectares to treat wastewater before discharge. The company uses the KLHK's SPARING system for real-time water quality monitoring, demonstrating commitment to environmental stewardship. Independent research by Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Khairun Ternate has shown that local fishing communities remain productive, supporting the effectiveness of these measures.

Social Sustainability Initiatives

The company has launched the SUTAN program (Sentra Pengolahan Ikan Nelayan) to enhance fishermen's economic value. In 2024 alone, SUTAN groups distributed 28.5 tons of fish for employee consumption, creating a stable economic chain.
