As of December 17, 2025, the number stood at 20,042,365 SID, representing a substantial 34.8% year-on-year increase. This growth has added 5.17 million new investors compared to the previous year.
The growth in investor numbers has been accompanied by exceptional market performance. The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) reached an all-time high of 8,710.69 on December 8, 2025, while market capitalization hit Rp16,004 trillion. The average daily transaction value remained robust at approximately Rp17.67 trillion (equivalent to US$1.07 billion), positioning the Indonesia Stock Exchange among the world's billion-dollar exchanges.
Miftahul Khaer from Kiwoom Sekuritas views the growing investor base as a positive development for market liquidity and stability. "The growth in investor numbers will lead to better domestic liquidity in the future," Miftahul stated. However, he emphasized the importance of investor education by market authorities to ensure sustainable growth. Rudiyanto from Panin Asset Management also welcomed the increase, noting that it would lead to more stable price formation based on fundamental values rather than speculative behavior.
Analysts recommend several strategies for investors navigating market volatility: maintaining a disciplined approach with a combination of strong fundamental stocks as anchors, employing dollar cost averaging (DCA), and limiting exposure to thematic or momentum stocks. For trading investors, disciplined profit-taking and cut-loss strategies are advised.
