Indonesia's UMKM Ministry Hosts PRABU Expo to Boost Local Products and Digital Transformation

Accelerating Digital Transformation in UMKM Sector

The Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) organized the PRABU (Produk Anak Bangsa Unggulan) Expo on November 5-6, 2025, at the SMESCO Convention Hall, 2nd Floor, South Jakarta. This national exhibition was designed to accelerate digital transformation and enhance the competitiveness of local products, particularly those produced by UMKM.

Collaborative Platform for UMKM Growth

The Deputy Minister of UMKM, Helvi Yuni Moraza, emphasized that the expo served as a crucial collaborative platform for UMKM entrepreneurs, government agencies, research institutions, investors, and marketplaces. The event facilitated the introduction of innovations and production technologies that can improve efficiency, quality, and export opportunities for UMKM products.

Focus on Micro-Entrepreneurs

Helvi highlighted that the majority of UMKM operators, more than 98%, are micro-entrepreneurs, with a significant portion falling into the ultra-micro category. The expo provided these micro-entrepreneurs with the opportunity to transform their production processes by utilizing appropriate equipment and machinery, thereby helping them graduate to become small entrepreneurs.

Strategic Partnerships for UMKM Development

During the expo, the Ministry of UMKM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with key partners including the Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop), Bank Indonesia (BI), and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). This collaboration is expected to provide comprehensive support to UMKM through financial services, research and development, and market access.
