Jakarta's MRT and LRT Extend Services for New Year's Eve Celebrations

Extended Operating Hours

PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has announced extended operating hours for New Year's Eve 2026. On December 31, 2025, the MRT will operate from 05:00 to 24:00 WIB. On January 1, 2026, services will continue from 00:00 to 02:00 WIB and then resume from 05:00 to 24:00 WIB ¹

Supporting Public Mobility

The extended hours are designed to accommodate the increased mobility of Jakarta's residents during the New Year's celebrations. Corporate Secretary Division Head Rendy Primartantyo stated that this special operational pattern will only apply for two days, with normal schedules resuming on January 2, 2026 ¹

Additional Measures

To manage potential crowds, MRT Jakarta has implemented various crowd management strategies, including additional service personnel and optimized card reading devices across all stations. The service extension is in line with various public activities planned in the Sudirman-Thamrin area during New Year's Eve ²

LRT Jabodebek Extension

LRT Jabodebek will also extend its operating hours until 01:44 WIB on January 1, 2026. Manager Public Relations Radhitya Mardika Putra explained that this extension is to accommodate the public's mobility during the New Year's celebrations. LRT Jabodebek has prepared 26 trainsets with 430 trips on weekdays and 18 trainsets with 270 trips on holidays. A total of 1,419 personnel will be deployed across various stations and trains ⁴
