PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo), a state-owned insurance company, is optimistic about the travel insurance segment during the upcoming Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) holidays. The company has witnessed significant growth in its personal accident insurance line, with premiums rising by 42.97% year-on-year as of October 2025. This growth is attributed to increased travel activities during the holiday season and growing awareness about the importance of travel insurance.
To capitalize on this trend, Jasindo has introduced a new travel insurance product called Jasindo Travel Insurance. This product offers comprehensive coverage with premiums starting from just Rp5,000. The basic coverage includes domestic medical protection up to Rp5 million, personal accident compensation up to Rp100 million, and international travel protection with coverage up to US$50,000 for both medical expenses and accident compensation.
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) also shares Jasindo's positive outlook on the travel insurance segment. OJK predicts that travel insurance premiums will continue to grow as mobility increases during the year-end holidays, contributing to the overall growth of the insurance industry. However, Jasindo notes that one of the key challenges remains enhancing public understanding that travel insurance is not just an additional expense but an essential risk mitigation measure. To address this, Jasindo is focusing on public education through various literacy campaigns and making their products more accessible to the general public.
As of October 2025, Jasindo reported gross premium income of Rp3.16 trillion, representing a 12.46% year-on-year growth from Rp2.81 trillion in the same period last year. However, the company saw a 19.68% decline in gross claims to Rp1.51 trillion during the same period. This performance indicates a positive trend in the company's underwriting performance while maintaining a healthy claims payout ratio.
