Inauguration of Avtur Fueling Services

Notohadinegoro Airport in Jember, East Java, has successfully initiated avtur fueling services with its first fueling operation conducted on January 15, 2026. This marks a crucial milestone in the airport's infrastructure development, paving the way for regular commercial flight operations. The inaugural fueling was carried out on an ATR aircraft type and was executed safely and smoothly, adhering to all safety standards and operational procedures.

Initial Flight Plans and Route Network

In its initial phase, the airport plans to operate five weekly flights for the Jember-Jakarta and Jember-Bali round-trip routes. This limited but strategic frequency aims to establish a stable foundation for future expansion as demand grows. The introduction of regular flights is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between Jember and major economic centers in Indonesia.

Industry Support and Economic Implications

Pertamina Patra Niaga, the state-owned enterprise responsible for the fueling services, has expressed strong support for the development of the aviation industry in the region. Alimuddin Baso, Director of Marketing Center and Commerce at Pertamina Patra Niaga, stated that the company's presence in Jember is part of its commitment to supporting the national aviation ecosystem. He emphasized that improved connectivity through Jember Airport could open up new opportunities for tourism, industry, and investment in East Java, particularly in the Jember area.

Stakeholder Perspectives

Kawendra Lukistian, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from Commission VI, welcomed the development, noting that the availability of avtur services would strengthen Jember's connectivity with national economic hubs. He highlighted that optimal flight services could provide better access to economic growth opportunities in the future. The collaborative effort between various stakeholders, including Pertamina Patra Niaga and local government representatives, underscores the significance of this infrastructure development for regional progress.
