KAI Introduces Special Train Service for Farmers and Traders

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is set to launch a special train service for farmers and traders starting December 1, 2025. This new initiative aims to facilitate the distribution of agricultural products and support local trade between Merak and Rangkasbitung. The service will be integrated with the existing Merak Local/Commuter Line train.

Service Details

The special train service will operate 7 round trips daily between Merak and Rangkasbitung, with each train having a capacity of 73 seats. The schedule will be aligned with the existing Merak Local train schedule from Rangkasbitung Station. This alignment ensures convenient travel options for farmers and traders.

Registration Process

To use this service, farmers and traders are required to register in advance and obtain a special card. The registration process is straightforward: they need to visit the designated ticket counter, bring their identification card, and fill out a registration form. Officials will conduct a quick verification process, after which the special card will be issued free of charge. Registration can be done before the departure date and at the time of using the train service.
