KAI Achieves High Ticket Sales for Christmas and New Year's 2025/2026

Strong Demand for Long-Distance Trains

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has announced that it has sold a total of 3,759,896 tickets for the Christmas and New Year's period of 2025/2026, which took place from December 18, 2025, to January 4, 2026. This figure comprises 3,100,751 tickets for long-distance trains and 659,145 tickets for local trains. Notably, the sales of long-distance train tickets have exceeded the available seating capacity by 12.3%, indicating a high demand for travel during this holiday season.

Local Train Ticket Sales Also Significant

In addition to the strong sales of long-distance train tickets, KAI also reported that 659,145 tickets were sold for local trains, which represents 88.5% of the total seating capacity. This suggests that many people opted for local train travel during the Christmas and New Year's period, possibly due to the convenience and affordability of this option.
