PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), Indonesia's state-owned railway company, has reported record ticket sales for the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) travel period. As of December 30, 2025, at 08:00 WIB, the company recorded 3.64 million tickets sold, demonstrating robust demand for rail travel during the holiday season.

Breakdown of Ticket Sales

The ticket sales were primarily driven by long-distance trains, which accounted for 3,016,104 tickets sold. This represents 109.2% of the available capacity of 2,761,048 seats, indicating that some routes were completely sold out or had additional demand that couldn't be met. Local trains also performed well, with 625,237 tickets sold, representing 83.9% of the available capacity of 745,056 seats.
