KAI Strengthens National Logistics with Record Cargo Transport

Significant Increase in Cargo Volume

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or KAI, has recorded a total cargo volume of 57.556.900 tons until October 2025. This represents a 0.69% increase compared to the same period last year (57.161.592 tons). The growth demonstrates KAI's consistent performance in providing efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly rail-based mass transportation services.

Peak Performance and Commodity Breakdown

May 2025 saw the highest monthly volume at 6.11 million tons. According to Anne Purba, Vice President of Public Relations at KAI, this increase reflects growing industry confidence in KAI's logistics services, which are recognized for being reliable, timely, and competitive. The transported commodities primarily consisted of coal at 47.77 million tons (approximately 83% of total cargo). Other significant commodities included cement and clinker, containerized goods, fuel, agricultural products, fertilizers, and retail goods - all crucial for maintaining industrial supply chains and national consumption.
