KAI's Batara Kresna Local Train Sees Significant Ridership Growth

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has reported a substantial increase in ridership for its Batara Kresna local train service. From January to November 2025, the train carried 162,451 passengers, representing a 44.53% growth compared to 112,398 passengers during the same period in 2024. The train's unique feature of running alongside major roads in Solo, particularly the protocol roads of Kota Solo, offers passengers a distinct travel experience.

Affordable Fares and Scenic Route

The Batara Kresna train operates on the Purwosari-Solo Kota-Sukoharjo-Pasarnguter-Wonogiri route, providing an affordable transportation option with fares starting at Rp 4,000. The journey takes passengers through both urban and rural landscapes, offering views of rice fields and the characteristic scenery of Central Java. This combination of affordability and scenic views has contributed to the service's growing popularity.
