KAI's Jatake Station to Enhance Commuter Line Capacity by 2026

Strategic Development for Jakarta's Commuter Needs

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is preparing to launch Jatake Station in 2026, marking a significant enhancement to the Commuter Line service between Tanah Abang and Rangkasbitung. The new station is part of KAI's strategy to improve transportation infrastructure in Jakarta's surrounding areas. Located in the Pagedangan sub-district of Tangerang, the station is designed to serve as a key transportation hub, supporting both commuter needs and local economic development.

Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Concept

Jatake Station is being developed with a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concept, which integrates transportation services with surrounding area activities. This approach aims to create a more efficient and organized transportation system while promoting economic growth in the region. The station will be built on a 2,435 square meter land area with a 3,000 square meter building spanning three floors.

Key Features and Capacity

The station is designed to accommodate 20,000 passengers daily, featuring:

• A 250-meter long platform with a width of 6 meters
• Multiple facilities including passenger activity areas, commercial zones, and KAI offices
• Parking facilities for motorcycles, cars, and bicycles
• Additional development land covering approximately 4,000 square meters

Improving Commuter Experience

According to KAI's CEO, Bobby Rasyidin, the station is being prepared to provide more accessible transportation, better-organized travel, and more evenly distributed passenger flow. The development is part of KAI's broader strategy to enhance both the capacity and quality of public transportation services in Jakarta's buffer zones.

Anne Purba, KAI's Vice President of Corporate Communication, emphasized that Jatake Station is designed to be a new service node that not only facilitates passenger movement but also stimulates local economic activity. The comprehensive facilities and strategic location are expected to support the growing needs of Commuter Line users while contributing to the area's economic development.
